Springfield College To Join In "Light Up Springfield Pink" Initiative
Springfield, MA (09/28/2023) — In support of the 30th anniversary of the Rays of Hope Walk and Run Toward the Cure of Breast Cancer, Springfield College will join others in the city of Springfield in lighting up a building in pink.
Starting on Sunday, October 1, the alcove of the Richard B. Flynn Campus Union on Alden Street will be illuminated with pink lights to honor the anniversary of the Rays of Hope and the many families impacted by breast cancer. During the month of October, Springfield College will join municipal buildings in the the city of Springfield such as City Hall, Symphony Hall, Union Station with being lit up pink.
"Lighting up our campus union in solidarity with the city of Springfield is another opportunity to support our surrounding community", said Springfield College President, Dr. Mary-Beth Cooper. "The Rays of Hope is such an impactful community event and ties directly with the education we provide our students in the importance of leadership in service to others."
