Springfield College's Juan Zhong Selected as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar
Springfield, MA (04/28/2026) — Springfield College is pleased to announce that Juan Zhong, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychology, has been selected as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar for 2026-2027 for Malaysia.
Dr. Zhong, who has been at Springfield College since 2019, will focus her Fulbright project on Financial Identity Development and Psychological Well-Being in Malaysian Emerging Adults. In a dynamic global economy, her work aims to understand the intersection of financial identity and mental health. Through both quantitative and qualitative approaches, Dr. Zhong will investigate how individuals construct and reconstruct their financial identity during this distinct developmental stage, navigating tensions related to financial independence, family responsibilities, and cultural expectations.
"Receiving the Fulbright award in Malaysia advances my growth as an international scholar in cross-cultural research. This award strengthens my dedication to fostering long-term academic and cultural exchange programs between Springfield College and institutions in Malaysia," said Zhong.
Reflecting Springfield College's longstanding commitment to global engagement, Dr. Zhong has continued to cultivate international partnerships, including supporting a collaboration with Shenzhen University. Her expertise has also extended her impact globally through a leadership role in the Society for the Study of Emerging Adulthood.
