Springfield College To Host 2024 AASP Northeast Regional Conference On March 1-2

Springfield, MA (02/16/2024) — Springfield College will once again serve as the host for the AASP (Association for Applied Sport Psychology) Northeast Regional Conference, which will be held March 1-2, 2024.

The student-oriented professional meeting, integrates Springfield College's misson of educating the whole person in spirit, mind, and body for leadership in service to others with sport, exercise, and performance psychology. The majority of the conference presentations will focus on student research and applied work, while professionals and community members will contribute to student development by sharing diverse perspectives from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines.

Highlighting the conference include a keynote panel on Friday, March 1 entitled 'Multidisciplinary Approach to Supervision & Mentorship at Springfield College' which features experts from campus including Chris Selby, PhD, Brian Thompson, PhD, Tina Riordan, Angela Veatch, Gary Enright, Lauren Gray, and Kathleen Mellano, PhD.

On Saturday, March 2, Dolores Christensen, PsyD, a Licensed Psychologist and Director of Psychological Resources at Oklahoma University, will provide the keynote address. She will explore connections between the critical ethical lessons learned during her graduate school training at Springfield College and her current professional practice as a licensed mental health professional working with elite collegiate student-athletes.
