2015 Feb 10

Springfield College Student-Athlete Nicholas Sienkiewicz of Cranston, RI (02905) has been selected to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District men's basketball team, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members in New England.

Sienkiewicz is now eligible for Capital One Academic All-America accolades, which will be voted upon later this winter. Sienkiewicz is one of the main reasons that Springfield has made back-to-back trips to the NCAA Division III Championship.

Sienkiewicz is one of only six men's basketball student-athletes from New England who was honored. Springfield College was joined by Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon, and Central College as the only institutions with multiple honorees on the Division III level.

Sienkiewicz, who currently carries a 4.0 grade point average while majoring in Physical Therapy, has been continuously active in the community since arriving on campus and is nominee for the 2015 Allstate National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Good Works Teams(R). On the court, the senior has been a consistent contributor, posting 8.3 points per game while shooting over 41% from the floor. Of the 44 Division III student-athletes honored, Sienkiewicz was one of only three to have a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
